G. kononenkoi Kozlov


Adult Characteristics

The species is depicted in Kozlov (1996).

Wing expanse 14-15 mm. Forewing brownish fuscous with slight bronzy shine, about ten near-white costal, dorsal, and apical spots, creating a checkerspot pattern.


Comparison with similar species

The species is said to be similar to the Japanese G. marginimaculata, but differing in placement of the light patches, in having the vinculum of the male genitalia no longer than valval length, and in having anterolateral processes of the transtilla arising far apart.


Host, oviposition, and larval feeding habits

No information available.


Geographic Distribution

Known only from two specimens collected on the Chukchi peninsula of easternmost Siberia.


Habitat

Low-shrub tundra.
