L. novempunctata Nielsen

Adult Characteristics

Depicted in Nielsen (1982). Female wingspan 12 mm. Forewing relatively narrow, dark brown with violet or reddish sheen, with nine white marks including a basal streak, 3 spots on costa and 3 on termen, and 2 in distal portion; hindwing sparsely set with dark gray scales that increase in density toward apex. Male unknown.

Comparison with similar species

Said to differ from the proposed sister species quinquepunctata in having more white spots, a non- isolated fringe along costa, a white fringe zone from apex to tornus. Both taxa have narrower wings and a more produced apex than all other Lampronia species.
